As a budding entrepreneur, and even later as a successful restauranter, I observed some simple habits among my wealthy friends that I feel I should share with in case they help someone in personal growth. I find most of these behavioral manifestations characteristic of what I normally refer to as the “millionaire mindset.” I have stated them here briefly, but most of them are well elucidated in my book, The Mountain, The Man, and The Compass. I am sure, that anyone who adopts these into their daily routine, can make a big difference in their life and improve their productivity greatly.


Happiness at work comes from having clearly defined goals

Clearly defining your goals creates realistic targets and a happy working environment.

If you want to be successful, you must actively set and pursue specific goals. You need to know where you want to go in life and then start taking actions that will get you there. Most importantly, keeping track of the progress you make toward achieving those goals will fuel your progress in life and attract the success you want.

If you have a plan, you can work more efficiently. For example, making a to-do list. Doing so will help you stay organized, improve your focus, and increase your productivity. This list will give you a structured plan to follow and provide evidence of what you have accomplished. A to-do list can help you attain more of your goals and manage your time more efficiently, both of which are important for success.

Planning ahead of time is a habit you should develop. Having a habit of planning things before they happen is helpful. Having a plan gives you an advantage over the situation.


Though it is a simple concept, many people nevertheless overlook gratitude. Being grateful is a way to change your perspective from what isn’t working and what you don’t have, to what actually is good in your life. It allows you to see the positive aspects of your life, no matter where you are. It can be incredibly beneficial to take the time each day to identify three things that you are grateful for. If you focus on these three items and list them out each morning in your journal, you will likely be amazed at how much you have to be happy about.


If you want to do well in life, one of the best things you can do is exercise every day. It doesn’t matter if you’re hitting the gym or just doing some laps around the house. What matters is that you do something every day to keep your body active. If you make this a habit, not only will you feel physically better, but you’ll also feel more motivated and have more mental clarity.


Time wasting and procrastination is a sign of lack of planning

Lack of planning leads to procrastination.

Time management is a critical habit for anyone looking to be successful in life. How you choose to spend the limited time you have is indicative of what you can achieve. Given that we all have the same amount of time in this world, how you use this resource will determine your potential for success. If you want to be successful, find an effective time management system and stick to it. While this may not be complicated, it does require being conscious and consistent in your effort. However, once this habit is solidified into your daily routine, you will be able to accomplish anything, no matter how big the goal is.

One way to improve your productivity is to get into the habit of distinguishing between which tasks are important and unimportant. Another way to improve is to be aware of time-wasting activities and cut them out of your day.

You should also be on the lookout for people who are time wasters and avoid them as much as possible. Your time is very valuable and you cannot afford to waste it.

Getting up early in the morning is a habit you should develop. You must have an early morning routine. Many successful people have their early morning routine and they also have a daily routine. If you get up early in the morning, you will have more time to plan for the day and start earlier.

It may be tough to wake up early at first, but it will become more natural the more you do it. If you want to achieve something significant in life, you have to be willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone.


Planning and preparation is a function of time management

Organized work involves skilled planning and time management.

Being organized is a habit of successful people. Being organized means having a plan, setting goals, and knowing what’s most important.

the organization is not only about organizing your goals and plans, it is also about your home specifically your room or your workspace also for example :

–Making your bed: might seem like a small task, but it can actually have a big impact on your day. It will provide you with a sense of accomplishment and encourage you to do more. It is important to remember that small steps lead to success.

–Decluttering your space: is not only about organizing and improving your home, but also essential to your mental and physical wellbeing. Seeing your papers scattered across your desk or your clothes in a pile on your bed every morning can add to your anxiety and stress. When you get rid of the extra stuff in your life, you’ll notice it has a positive effect on your mental well-being. Plus, you’ll be more productive because now your space is clean and organized.


It is important to make an effort to learn something new every day, which can be in the form of acquiring new skills or developing the skills you already possess. By dedicating a small amount of time to learning from different sources every day, you will be able to improve your skills and knowledge in various areas.

Learn a new skill whenever possible

Learn a new skill at every given opportunity

A common characteristic of successful people is that they read a lot. This includes books, blogs, articles, and magazines. It is beneficial to develop the habit of reading  This will help to improve your mind, thinking, and knowledge. Furthermore, your vocabulary and writing skills will also increase.

Keeping a journal not only gives you greater clarity, but it can also help to amplify the meaning and help you to notice patterns in your thinking and behavior. Keeping a journal can be really helpful in understanding yourself better, processing difficult feelings, or just reflecting on your day-to-day happenings.

Being habitually journaling for at least five minutes a day is beneficial, such as reflecting on your day, asking open-ended questions, or exploring emotions.
