As you write your Wealth Vision with insight and introspection, the process alone will be the moment of your Wealth Awakening. This powerful process will be the dramatic turning point of your financial life.

This vision is how you live your financial life. It’s your personal creed. It’s your core philosophy. It captures you. It excites you. You are impassioned and empowered by it. It becomes a part of your being, integrated into the cells of your brain, nervous system, and body. It stirs you to see things not by your eyes, but through your heart.

Many of us go through life without ever really having a clear vision of what it is that we actually want our life to look like.

Often we find ourselves working, saving money, and investing, but we’re really not sure what we are working, saving, and investing for.

Maybe we do it because we think it’s what we are supposed to do or because someone told us it’s what we should do. We focus on rates of return, fees, tax strategies, how we should invest, etc.

Often we have never really asked the question…What do we really want our money to do for us?

Without a clear vision, our life can quickly fall out of balance. I talk a lot about having a financial vision because money impacts almost every area of our life.

Setting short-term financial goals, as well as mid-term and long-term, is an important step toward becoming financially secure. If you aren’t working toward anything specific, you’re likely to spend more than you should. You’ll then come up short when you need money for unexpected bills, not to mention when you want to retire. You might get stuck in a vicious cycle of credit card debt and feel like you never have enough cash to get properly insured, leaving you more vulnerable than you need to be to handle some of life’s major risks.

Even the most prudent person can’t prepare for every crisis, as the world learned in the pandemic and many families learn every month. What thinking ahead does is give you a chance to work through things that could happen and do your best to prepare for them. This should be an ongoing process so you can shape your life and goals to fit the changes that will inevitably come.

A Wealth Vision may seem intimidating or overwhelming. The natural tendency is to put it off. Don’t make that mistake! Again, the initial process will have an immediate impact on your financial life. Writing a rough draft should only take a few minutes. Over the months and years ahead you can refine and clarify your Wealth Vision.
